The International Certificate of Massage gives your professionalism a shared point of reference. Massage Alliance checks qualifications, professional registration, standards, ethics and continuing learning, with liability insurance reviewed where required. A professional quality mark with a mission: recognition across the international massage community.
Certification is assessed separately from association membership.

Is membership the same as certification?
No. Membership is an association relationship. Certification is a separate assessment against the criteria for the relevant credential. Membership alone does not mean that a certificate has been awarded.
What does “international” mean here?
The International Certificate of Massage is designed to support professional recognition among practitioners, schools and businesses in different countries. It provides a shared point of reference for assessed training and commitment to quality. Acceptance depends on the organisation considering it, and local professional requirements still apply.
Is professional liability insurance included?
Do not assume insurance is included with membership or certification. Ask the association for the terms of any available arrangement and verify the cover, exclusions and territorial scope with the insurer.
Who can enquire about joining?
Massage professionals, educators, schools and wellness centres can register interest. Eligibility, documentation and available categories need to be confirmed for the relevant pathway.
What are the fees and how long does it take?
Request the current fee schedule, any assessment or renewal costs, and the expected timetable before committing. This page does not promise a fixed price, approval or turnaround time.
